Product Overview

Description

The BBB is a highly selective membrane that surrounds the blood vessels in the brain, and it can prevent many molecules, including potentially life-saving drugs, from entering the brain. The anti-KCNJ8 BBB Shuttle Antibody is designed to bind to receptors on the surface of cells in the BBB, and once bound, the antibody can cross the BBB and into the brain. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of brain disorders by enabling drugs to reach the brain more effectively.

Immunogen

Fusion protein amino acids 306-424 (cytoplasmic C-terminus) of rat Kir6.1 (also known as ATPsensitive inward rectifier potassium channel 8, Potassium channel inwardly rectifying subfamily J member 8, uKATP-1 and Kcnj8, accession number Q63664)
Mouse: 99% identity (118/119 amino acids identical)
Human: 96% identity (115/119 amino acids identical)
<50% identity with Kir6.2
