SHIELD reagent (AKA GE38) safeguards endogenous fluorescence, protein antigenicity, nucleic acids, and overall tissue architecture against physical and chemical stressors. The SHIELD tissue preservation method also protects tissue during fluorescent protein imaging and antibody labeling across multiple rounds.
