Product Overview

Description

CD271, also known as p75NTR, TNFRSF16, p75 (NTR), Gp80-LNGFR and NGFR, is a type I transmembrane protein with a molecular weight of 75 kD. It is expressed by many cell types, including neurons, Schwann cells, mesenchymal stem/stromal cells, follicular dendritic cells and melanocytes. The extracellular part contains four TNFR-Cys repeats, which form the binding domain of its ligands (NGF, BDNF, NTF3 and NTF4). The intracellular part of CD271 contains a death domain that interacts with TRAF2, TRAF4, TRAF6, PTPN13 and RANBP9 to promote cell apoptosis and regulate cell differentiation and neurogenesis.
