Description
Studies using neural progenitor cells (NPCs) typically require weeks of cell culture to test experimental hypotheses. Therefore, the ability to validate pluripotency early in the experimental process is an important time-saving step. Pluripotent state can be assessed by the presence of cellular markers and/or the ability of progenitor cells to differentiate into multiple neural lineages. To determine whether a cell population is truly composed of pluripotent NPCs, it is important to validate their ability to differentiate into neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes.
