Product Overview

Description

MO3.13 is an immortalized human-human hybrid cell line expressing phenotypic characteristics of primary oligodendrocytes. It is generated by fusing a 6-thioguanine-resistant mutant of human rhabdomyosarcoma RD with adult oligodendrocytes via lectin-enhanced polyethylene glycol. In contrast to the tumor parental cell, MO3.13 expresses surface immunoreactivity for galactocerebroside (GS) and myelin basic protein (MBP), proteolipid protein (PLP) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) . MO3.13 cells provide an immortalized clonal model system suitable for studying gene expression in oligodendrocytes and astrocytes.

Excellent
The cells are easy to culture and maintain, and they display robust oligodendrocytic properties
The human glial hybrid cell line has provided us with a reliable in vitro model for studying myelination processes. The cells differentiate well and exhibit the expected oligodendrocytic markers. We've been using this cell line for a few months now, and the results have been outstanding.
user
Excellent
Definitely worth the investment
The quality of these cells is top-notch. They are robust and maintain their characteristics over multiple passages. This has been essential for our studies on the role of oligodendrocytes in neurodevelopmental disorders. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.
user
Excellent
Highly satisfied with the cell line. The cells have been consistent across different batches
We have been impressed with the robustness and reliability of this cell line. The oligodendrocytic properties are well-maintained, and the cells are suitable for a wide range of assays. This has greatly facilitated our research on glial cell biology.
user
Excellent
A fantastic tool
The cells arrived in excellent condition and were easy to thaw and culture. They have been very responsive to our experimental conditions, providing reproducible and robust data. This cell line is now a staple in our lab for glial cell research.
user
Excellent
Provide a dependable model for our studies
The cell line has been pivotal in our research on synaptic interactions. The cells integrate well into our co-culture systems, providing a reliable model to study glial-neuronal interactions.
Q&As
What is the origin of the human glial (oligodendrocytic) hybrid cell line (MO3.13)?
The cell line (MO3.13) is derived from a fusion between human oligodendrocytic and human neuroblastoma cells.
Does the cell line exhibit any known genetic mutations or abnormalities?
The MO3.13 cell line is typically characterized by specific genetic markers and has been extensively studied for its genetic stability in research settings.
Are there any specific guidelines or protocols for working with the MO3.13 cell line?
We provide detailed protocols and guidelines for handling, culturing, and maintaining the MO3.13 cells to ensure their proper growth and function in research projects. Researchers should follow these instructions carefully to achieve optimal results.
