Description

Rat anti-Mouse CD205 recognizes DEC-205, which is an integral membrane glycoprotein of about 205 kDa expressed by mouse dendritic cells and thymic epithelial cells. Bone marrow cells, all blood cells and freshly isolated macrophages from the peritoneal cavity are absent. In mice previously stimulated with thioglycolate, the latter subpopulation became positive. The follicular dendritic cells of B cell follicles are not present either. This antigen is present in the positive cross-referenced cells in the T cell area of all secondary lymphoid organs. It also exists on covered cells. In non-lymphoid organs, antigens are only found on Langerhans cells of the skin, but cross-reactions with positive thymic epithelial cells and intestinal villi epithelial cells are also observed.
