Description

Mouse anti-Pig CD163 antibody, recognizes porcine CD163, a ~120 kDa single-pass type 1 transmembrane cell surface glycoprotein expressed on cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage. The expression level of CD163 changes during the differentiation of macrophages. The highest level of CD163 expression was found on tissue macrophages, but bone marrow-derived cells were CD163 negative. Depending on the donor, the expression of CD163 on peripheral blood mononuclear cells varies between approximately 5% and 50% (Sanchez et al., 1999). According to reports, mouse anti-pig CD163 clone 2A10/11 inhibited African swine fever infection and the binding of virus particles to alveolar macrophages in a dose-dependent manner.
