Product Overview

Description

Cytokeratin 17 (CK-17), is a type I intermediate filament protein. Cytokeratin 17 participates in promoting protein synthesis and cell growth through recruiting stratifin (SFN) to the cytoplasm and stimulating the Akt/mTOR pathway. Cytokeratin 17 was found to regulate chemokine expression, including the CXCR3 ligands CXCL9, CXCL10, and CXCL11. Cytokeratin 17 expression can be upregulated in response to chemical stimulation, wounding, and UV irradiation. Increased expression of Cytokeratin 17 is associated with lesion progression and poor prognosis in epithelial carcinoma. Cytokeratin 17 deficient mice show a delay in wound healing and attenuated tumorigenesis.
