Product Overview

Description

The virus protection medium can effectively preserve functional virus particles in repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Generally, after a freeze-thaw cycle, the lentiviral titer drops by up to 50%. By adding a virus protection medium to the concentrated virus stock, even after six freeze-thaw cycles, more than 90% of the functional virus particles are retained, thereby greatly extending the shelf life of the virus stock.

Features
Ready-to-use: Just add virus protection media to the virus database.
Long-term virus storage: At -80°C, long-term virus storage can be performed within six months.
High recovery efficiency: After six freeze-thaw cycles, 90% of the functional titer is retained.
Non-toxic: No cytotoxicity was observed.

Handling Advices

For all materials containing BSL-2 organisms, follow the recommended NIH guidelines. The NeuroShop Lentiviral Expression System is designed to minimize the chance of producing lentivirus with replication capabilities, but precautions should still be taken to avoid direct contact with viral supernatant.

Quality Control

Each batch of virus protection medium was functionally tested in the transduction assay using HEK293T cells.

Shelf Life

This product is stable for 3 months when stored as directed.
