Product Overview

Description

Parkinson's disease is a long-term degenerative disease of the central nervous system, primarily affecting the motor system. Familial cases of PD may be caused by mutations in the LRRK2, PARK7, PINK1, PRKN, or SNCA genes or by genetic alterations that have not yet been identified. Mutations in some of these genes may also play a role in what appears to be sporadic (non-hereditary) cases. Fibroblasts from clinically diagnosed PD patients were reprogrammed into iPSCs using our footprint-free episomal reprogramming approach, and then differentiated into neural stem cells using our chemically defined cortical neural induction approach.
