Immortalized mouse α-GalA-/or Schwann cell (1089C1) is a spontaneously immortalized cell line from Fabry mice. The Gla gene allele of 1089C1 has been disrupted and exhibits a unique Schwann cell morphology And biochemical phenotype (insufficient α-galactosidase activity). This cell line can be used as a mouse model for Fabry disease research.
