Product Overview

Description

The BBB is a highly selective membrane that surrounds the blood vessels in the brain, and it can prevent many molecules, including potentially life-saving drugs, from entering the brain. The anti-ATP7A BBB Shuttle Antibody is designed to bind to receptors on the surface of cells in the BBB, and once bound, the antibody can cross the BBB and into the brain. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of brain disorders by enabling drugs to reach the brain more effectively.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide amino acids 42-61 (SLEEKNATIIYDPKLQTPKT, cytoplasmic N-terminus) of human ATP7A (also known as Copper-transporting ATPase 1, Copper pump 1, Menkes disease-associated protein, MC1 and MNK, accession number Q04656)
Mouse: 95% identity (19/20 amino acids identical)
Rat: 85% identity (17/20 amino acids identical)
No significant identity with ATP7B
