Opioid Dependence Drug Discovery Service
Opioid dependence has been recognized as a medical and social problem of concern. For decades, the latest research results on the discovery of new drug targets have opened up new directions for the development of anti-addictive drugs. Creative Biolabs has established an advanced platform, and our scientists are dedicated to providing comprehensive services to clients around the world, especially anti-opioid drug development services.
Overview of Opioid Dependence
Opioids produce pleasant and pain-relieving effects by acting on the nervous system. Opioids include various drugs such as fentanyl, methadone, hydrocodone, codeine as well as morphine. Opioids are secure when properly applied. But when these drugs are abused, it will result in the undesirable consequences of addiction. Opioid dependence is a sophisticated disease with mood swings, depression, decreased motivation, and anxiety as the main symptoms. A variety of factors may contribute to the disease. In addition to genetic, psychological, and environmental roles in addiction, inappropriate use can also have adverse consequences. It is worth noting that the timing of taking opioids is also related to the risk of addiction. Patients are more likely to recover fully with suitable medication-assisted therapy. In recent years, methadone and buprenorphine, the role of opioid agonists in drug addiction, has emerged as a focus. Many patients are treated in primary care, which can provide effective addiction therapy. And evidence showed that methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone have favorable effects on opioid use disorder. What's more, the research on new targets of anti-opioid dependence drugs and the development of new drugs has always attracted widespread attention.
