Product Overview

Description

The BBB is a highly selective membrane that surrounds the blood vessels in the brain, and it can prevent many molecules, including potentially life-saving drugs, from entering the brain. The anti-SCN4A BBB Shuttle Antibody is designed to bind to receptors on the surface of cells in the BBB, and once bound, the antibody can cross the BBB and into the brain. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of brain disorders by enabling drugs to reach the brain more effectively.

Immunogen

Fusion protein amino acids 269-386 (Repeat I external pore between S5 and S6) of rat Nav1.4 (also known as Voltage-gated sodium channel subunit alpha Nav1.4, Sodium channel protein skeletal muscle subunit alpha, Sodium channel protein type IV subunit alpha, Scn4a, SkM1 and Mu-1, accession number P15390)
Mouse: 96% identity (113/118 amino acids identical)
Human: 85% identity (106/124 amino acids identical)
<60% identity with Nav1.2, Nav1.3 and other Nav1 channels
