Product Overview

Description

NRP-0422-P1668 antibody recognizes all tau isoforms. NR2264P produces abundant staining of NFT, dystrophic neurites in plaques, and dispersed staining of neuropil (neuropil threads). The monoclonal antibodies can be used to detect tau and abnormally phosphorylated tau in brain extracts and in unconcentrated cerebrospinal fluid.

WB

Figure 1 Western blot detection of normal tau or PHF-tau using monoclonal antibodies Tau-1 and AT120.

Lanes 1, 3 and 5: PHF-tau isolated according to Greenberg and Davies (1990). Lanes 2, 4 and 6: Normal affinity purified human tau according to Mercken et al. (1992a). Lane 7: Molecular weight markers. Lanes 1 and 2 were developed using AT8, lanes 3 and 4, using AT120 and lanes 5 and 6, using Tau-1 monoclonal antibody.

ELISA

Figure 2 Titration of normal (0) and PHF tau (▪) spiked into a pool of tau-negative CSF using an amplified (CARD) AT120 sandwich ELISA. All dilutions were tested in duplicate and data are expressed in optical density (OD) units.

WB

Q&As
How specific is the antibody to different tau isoforms or phosphorylated states?
The Clone NR2264P is meticulously validated for its specificity to tau protein across its various isoforms. It recognizes both phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated forms, which is crucial for differentiating between normal tau function and pathological states. This antibody has undergone extensive testing to ensure minimal cross-reactivity with other proteins, making it an excellent tool for detailed tau analysis in your research.
Are there any published studies that have used this antibody, and can you provide examples?
Yes, numerous studies have utilized the antibody. For example, it has been employed in research examining tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease models, contributing to insights into disease mechanisms. Peer-reviewed articles often cite its use in characterizing tau distribution in brain tissues. For specific references, we recommend checking our website or contacting our support team for a list of relevant publications.
What is the delivery time for this antibody, and do you offer any customer support for experimental troubleshooting?
