RT4-D6P2T is a schwannoma cell line derived from N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea (ENU)-induced rat peripheral nerve tumor RT4. The tumor grows in culture, and the cell line RT4-AC is isolated, and then develops in a different cell type RT4-D to produce glial-specific S100. RT4-D was subcloned to produce RT4-D6, RT4-D6 was subcloned to produce RT-4-D6P2, and then finally subcloned to produce D6P2T subclone.
