Description

Intraneuronal accumulation of hyperphosphorylated tau is a hallmark pathology of more than two dozen neurodegenerative diseases, collectively referred to as tau lesions, including the most common form of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Therefore, selective removal or reduction of hyperphosphorylated tau is expected to be useful in the treatment of AD and other tau diseases.
Creative Biolabs offers a novel dephosphorylation targeting chimera (DEPTAC) to specifically promote the binding of tau to Bα subunit-containing protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A-Bα), the most active tau phosphatase in the brain. DEPTAC is highly efficient in dephosphorylating tau at multiple AD-associated sites and preventing tau accumulation in vitro and in vivo.
