Product Overview

Description

This kit is designed to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections and can also be used for cryosections. Alcian blue stains acidic mucous material and acetate mucin. Excessive amounts of non-sulfated acidic mucinous material are seen in mesothelioma, some quantities normally present in the vessel wall but increased in early lesions of atherosclerosis. Strongly acidic mucus material will be stained blue, the nucleus will be stained pink to red, and the cytoplasm will be stained pale pink.
