Alzheimer's Disease (AD) Animal Model Development Services
To address these critical bottlenecks in the trajectory of therapeutic development for Alzheimer's disease (AD), our AD Animal Model Development Service provides a specialized platform. This service employs advanced generation techniques coupled with rigorous, multi-faceted characterization protocols. Consequently, the aim is to furnish researchers with highly relevant in vivo models. Utilization of such meticulously developed models may facilitate an expedited research process and potentially enhance the predictive power of preclinical efficacy assessments for candidate AD therapeutics.
Introduction of AD Animal Models
AD is an insidiously progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by Aβ plaque deposition and tau protein tangle formation in the brain. These pathological changes are closely associated with neural network damage and cognitive decline.
Current research relies heavily on rodent models to explore AD mechanisms and test potential therapies. Although these models can mimic key pathological features, their translational effect is limited. Therefore, a new generation of models is being developed to improve accuracy and drive clinical translation.
Types of Our AD Animal Models
Creative Biolabs offers a comprehensive portfolio of AD animal models, including:
- APP Transgenic Mouse Models
- Amyloid Knock-In Mouse Models
- Tau Transgenic Mouse Models

Case Study
Human TAU Transgenic Mice - TMHT
AD, Parkinsonism linked to chromosome 17 or frontotemporal dementia share the pathogenic process of hyperphosphorylation and aggregation of the microtubule associated protein Tau (MAPT). TMHT (Thy-1 Mutated Human Tau) transgenic mice express the longest human tau isoform tau441 (2N4R) with two mutations, V337M and R406W, under regulatory control of the neuron specific murine Thy-1 promoter.
3xTg Mouse Models
The 3xTg mouse models are viable, fertile, and initially demonstrate no overt physical or behavioral abnormalities. The overexpression of the transgene is restricted to the central nervous system (CNS), including the hippocampus and cerebral cortex. These mice exhibit plaque and tangle pathology.
