Description

Cytochrome c oxidase (COX) is essential for mitochondrial function. Succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) is completely encoded by nuclear DNA and its activity is not normally affected by damage to mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). Combining COX with SDH can display COX-negative fibers.
