Demyelination Modeling and Drug Efficacy Testing Service

Disease Mechanism

Demyelinating diseases (demyelinating diseases) are a group of diseases characterized by demyelination of nerves and relatively mild involvement of neuronal cell bodies and axons, including hereditary and acquired. Inherited demyelinating disease mainly refers to leukodystrophy, which is more common in children. Acquired demyelinating diseases are divided into two categories: central and peripheral. The most representative peripheral demyelinating diseases are acute and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Central demyelinating diseases include multiple sclerosis (MS) and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM).

Demyelination Modeling

Classification Modeling Method Animals
Demyelinating diseases model Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) model induced by immunogens MOG (35-55), MBP (6886), PLP (139-151), guinea pig spinal cord homogenate, etc. Rat/Mouse

Experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) is a specific sensitized CD4+ T cell-mediated disease characterized by mononuclear cell infiltration and demyelination around small blood vessels in the central nervous system. It is an ideal model of human multiple sclerosis and has important clinical significance. The EAE model was prepared by using myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein polypeptide (MOG), myelin basic protein (MBP), and myelin proteolipid protein (PLP) and other components to immunize animals, to cause inflammation and demyelination symptoms.

Assays after Modeling

Creative Biolabs offers a variety of well-accepted behavioral tests to assess potential anxiolytic, antidepressant, or antipsychotic effects, as well as cognitively enhancing and disruptive effects on learning and memory (cognitive, psychiatric, neurological). We have developed a comprehensive range of rat primary neuronal culture models and assays to evaluate the neurotoxic, neuroprotective, or neurotrophic effects of test compounds (cellular models).

Specifically, we provide MRI/PET-CT in vivo imaging of small animals, cardiac ultrasound, X-ray films, tissue fluorescence imaging (whole brain slide scan, tissue immunofluorescence imaging), patch clamp on cells and brain slices, multi-channel in vivo electrophysiological recordings, respiration recordings, behavioral testing of pain, anxiety, depression, olfactory function-related (go/no-go) in awake animals.

Why Creative Biolabs?

With extensive research experience, Creative Biolabs also helps our clients validate and develop the most cost-effective experimental designs and protocols. According to your target indications, we can establish a screening program for your drug project. In-house expertise allows us to assist you in most CNS and PNS disorders.
