Product Overview

Description

Polymeric or monomeric Ubiquitin exists free or covalently attached to its ligand. Ubiquitin is conjugated to its target via an isopeptide bond either as a monomer or as one of two polymeric forms. Ubiquitin monomers in one type of polymer are covalently linked via various Lys residues (polyubiquitin). The other type of ubiquitin polymer involves monomers that are linked linearly via an initiator Met (linear polyubiquitin). Polyubiquitin's functions depend on which Lys residue is involved in cross-linking the protein.
