Description

Telomeres are specialized terminal structures of chromosomes containing tandem nucleotide TTAGGG repeats that form the nucleoprotein complexes required for replication. Telomere repeat binding factor 1 (TRF1) is a component of human telomeres whose function has been proposed to involve regulation of telomere elongation. Hypothesizing that telomere dysfunction and telomerase activation may play an important role in the loss of genomic integrity during prostate tumorigenesis and breast cancer development, antibodies to TRF1 are valuable assets in cancer research and beyond.

This antibody recognizes human telomere repeat binding factor 1 (TRF1). Full-length recombinant human TRF1 was used as the immunogen. It is produced in cell culture supernatant and contains 0.005% thimerosal as a preservative. Antibodies are usually detected by Western blot.
