Product Overview

Description

The mouse anti-MBP antibody recognizes the epitope between amino acids 84 and 89 of human myelin basic protein (also known as MBP, myelin A1 protein or myelin membrane encephalopathy protein). MBP is a rich component of 304 amino acids in myelin membrane, about 33 kDa. Six potential MBP subtypes were generated by alternative splicing, four of which lacked N-terminal regions containing immunogen sequences. The mouse anti-MBP antibody is expected to recognize isoforms 1 and 2 (UniProt: P02686). The N-terminal region of MBP is highly conserved, and mouse anti-MBP antibodies are expected to have extensive cross-reactivity to maintain the isoforms of the N-terminal region. According to reports, mouse anti-MBP antibodies are suitable for Western blotting.
