Description

β-Endorphin (β-EP) is an endogenous opioid neuropeptide and peptide hormone, produced in certain neurons in the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. It is one of the five endorphins produced by humans, the others include α-endorphins, γ-endorphins, α-neoendorphins and β-neoendorphins. The function of β-endorphin is known to be related to hunger, excitement, pain, maternal health, sexual behavior and reward cognition. In the broadest sense, β-endorphin is mainly used in the body to reduce stress and maintain homeostasis. In behavioral studies, studies have shown that β-endorphin is released into the ventricular system through volume transfer in response to multiple stimuli, especially new stimuli. Our β-EPELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay that can quantitatively measure β-EP in human serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant within 90 minutes. The density of the color is directly proportional to the amount of β-EP captured from the sample.
