Description

Growth hormone releasing factor (GRF) is an amidated peptide of 44 amino acids that stimulates the release of the 197 amino acid protein growth hormone (GH or growth hormone) from the pituitary gland. GRF is associated with nerve cell bodies in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus. GH acts as a general anabolic stimulant; increasing insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) release; cell growth and bone sulfation.

Application Notes

This antibody recognizes growth hormone releasing hormone/factor in rat. Synthetic hpGRF 1-40 was used as the immunogen. Purification of antibodies from polyclonal antisera using CRF affinity columns. Antibodies are usually detected by immunoblotting.
