Product Overview

Description

The BBB is a highly selective membrane that surrounds the blood vessels in the brain, and it can prevent many molecules, including potentially life-saving drugs, from entering the brain. The anti-KCNG1 BBB Shuttle Antibody is designed to bind to receptors on the surface of cells in the BBB, and once bound, the antibody can cross the BBB and into the brain. This technology has the potential to revolutionize the treatment of brain disorders by enabling drugs to reach the brain more effectively.

Immunogen

Fusion protein amino acids 1-227 (cytoplasmic N-terminus) of mouse Kv6.1 (also known as Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily G member 1, Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv6.1, kH2 and Kcng1, accession number A2BDX4)
Rat: 97% identity (220/227 amino acids identical)
Human: 89% identity (202/227 amino acids identical)
<50% identity with Kv6.4/KCNG4 and other Kv channels
