Description

8-Hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) is an oxidized derivative of deoxyguanosine. The concentration of 8-oxo-dG in the cell is a measure of oxidative stress. It is considered a key biomarker of oxidative stress and carcinogenesis. This ELISA kit uses competitive ELISA as the method. The microtiter plate provided in this kit is pre-coated with 8-OHdG. During the reaction, the 8-OHdG in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of 8-OHdG on the solid support for the site on the 8-OHdG-specific biotinylated detection antibody. Our 8-OHdG ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay that can quantitatively measure rat 8-OHdG in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant within 90 minutes. The density of the color is directly proportional to the amount of rat 8-OHdG captured from the sample.
