Description
This molecule is a precisely engineered RNA motif designed for high-performance cellular imaging. Its sequence is crafted to fold into a stable, parallel-stranded G-quadruplex (G4) structure, which creates a unique, high-affinity binding pocket for its specific fluorophore ligands. Unlike other imaging tags, this module binds to Thiazole Orange (TO) derivatives with low nanomolar affinity, resulting in a massive fluorescence enhancement of over 1,000-fold upon complex formation. This exceptionally tight and specific interaction leads to a very bright signal with a high signal-to-noise ratio, making it one of the most robust RNA reporter systems available. Its superior brightness and photostability allow for the sensitive detection and quantitative tracking of even low-copy-number RNA transcripts within the complex environment of a living cell.
