Alpha-synuclein is a protein abundant in the human brain, mainly located at the tip of nerve cells (neurons) in a special structure called the presynaptic terminal. Although the function of α-synuclein is not yet understood, studies have shown that it plays a role in maintaining the supply of synaptic vesicles at the presynaptic end by accumulating synaptic vesicles. It can also help regulate the release of dopamine, a neurotransmitter that is essential for controlling the start and stop of voluntary and involuntary exercise. Mutations in α-synuclein may lead to the formation of amyloid fibrils, leading to Parkinson's disease. Our SNCA ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for quantitative measurement of human SNCA in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant. The density of the color is directly proportional to the amount of human SNCA captured from the sample.
This ELISA kit is used for quantitative measurement of alpha-synuclein in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.
