Neurons are the basic part of the nervous system. These specialized cells are the brain information processing unit responsible for receiving and transmitting information. Each part of the neuron plays a role in the communication of information throughout the body. The neuron markers sold by Creative Biolabs can be divided into axon markers, dendritic markers, growth cone markers, somatic markers and synaptic markers.
Soma is the main head of the neuron. It is where the signals from the dendrites are merged and transmitted. Soma possesses the nucleus of nerve cells. Neither somatic cells nor cell nuclei play an active role in the transmission of neuronal signals, but they play an important role in cell maintenance and function. These structures support the chemical processing of neurons, the most important of which is the production of neurotransmitters. Somatic cells produce proteins that other parts of neurons (including dendrites, axons, and synapses) need to function properly.
