Product Overview

Description

Rat spinal cord neural stem cells are isolated from spinal cord tissue; the spinal cord is a thin tubular bundle-like neural structure located in and protected by the spinal canal; an extension of the central nervous system derived from the brain. The cells of the central nervous system rely on complex connections to process and transmit information. The main function of the spinal cord is to transmit neural information between the brain and the periphery. A part of the central nervous system of humans and vertebrates, in the spinal canal, the upper end is connected to the medulla oblongata, and pairs of nerves are issued on both sides, which are distributed to the limbs, body wall and internal organs. The interior of the spinal cord has an H-shaped (butterfly-shaped) gray matter area, mainly composed of nerve cells; around the gray matter area is a white matter area, mainly composed of myelinated nerve fibers; the spinal cord is the center of many simple reflexes. Many pairs of nerves (called spinal nerves) originate from both sides of the spinal cord and distribute to the skin, muscles and internal organs throughout the body. The spinal cord is the pathway between peripheral nerves and the brain, and is also the lower-level center for many simple reflex activities. The spinal cord can also be divided into 31 corresponding segments according to the entry and exit of the spinal nerves, and the 31 pairs of spinal nerves are issued by different vertebrae. Neural stem cells are a kind of mother cells with division potential and self-renewal ability, which can generate various cells of neural tissue through unequal division. It should be emphasized that in all neural tissues such as the cerebrospinal cord, different neural stem cell types produce different types and distributions of progeny cells. As a kind of stem cells, neural stem cells have the basic characteristics of all other stem cells: they have the ability of self-maintenance and self-renewal, have a variety of differentiation potentials, and have the ability to differentiate into most types of cells in this system. This self-renewal and differentiation potential It can last for a considerable period of time or even a lifetime, and is responsive to injury and disease. Neural stem cells have the ability to proliferate, migrate, and differentiate into nerve cells, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes under disease and injury conditions. Stem cell culture model is the premise of its basic and clinical application. Neural stem cells can form neurospheres after culturing for 3-4 days, and the neurospheres grow in suspension in the medium.
