Description

Mouse anti-human NFkB p52 antibody recognizes nuclear factor NF-kappa-B p100 subunit, also known as lymphocyte translocation chromosome 10 protein, nuclear factor Kappa-B subunit 2, and the Kappa light chain gene enhancer in B cell 2 The nuclear factor, Lyt-10 oncogene or transcription factor NFKB2. The NFKB2 gene encodes one of the subunits of the transcription factor complex nuclear factor-κB (NFkB). The NFkB transcription factor complex is expressed in a variety of cell types and acts as a central activator of genes related to inflammation and immune function. The NFkB complex can be composed of different subunits that form homodimers or heterodimers that bind to specific κB elements in the target gene. The NFKB2 encoding is processed as the p100 subunit of the active p52 subunit. Depending on its dimer partner, this protein can act as both a transcriptional activator and a repressor protein. Alternate splicing results in both coding and non-coding variants (provided by RefSeq, May 2012).
