Description

Rat anti-mouse CD206 antibody, recognizes the mouse mannose receptor, a type 1 membrane glycoprotein of ~175 kDa, also known as CD206. CD206 is expressed in most tissue macrophages, certain endothelial cells and dendritic cells derived in vitro (Zamze et al., 2002). The mannose receptor CD206 consists of an N-terminal cysteine-rich domain, a type II fibronectin domain, eight C-type lectin domains (CTLD) arranged in series, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic domain composition. The cysteine-rich domain at the end incorporates sulfated sugars. CTLD recognizes carbohydrates with mannose, fucose and N-acetylglucosamine as the end. These sugars are found in microorganisms and certain endogenous proteins.
