Presynaptic Markers

Synapses allow neurons to transmit electrical or chemical signals to another neuron or the target effector cells. When the membrane on the dendrite is depolarized, the action potential is transmitted through the pre-synaptic neuron along the axon to the presynaptic end. The end of the axon (the pre-synaptic end) releases neurotransmitters into the synaptic space to transmit signals to the post-synaptic neurons. The pre-synaptic end contains a large number of docking vesicles filled with neurotransmitters. This area is called the synapse activity area. Due to the high calcium content in the cells after depolarization, these docked vesicles release their stored neurotransmitters into the synaptic space by fusing their cell membranes with the target cell membrane.

Creative Biolabs is committed to developing the most advanced pre-synaptic markers to assist neuroscience research. Our product portfolio includes monoclonal antibodies, polyclonal antibodies and antibody conjugates.

With our easy-to-use guide below, make sure you choose the best cell marker tools for your research needs.
