Description
This gene encodes a DNA binding protein that specifically binds to the nuclear matrix attachment region. The encoded protein is involved in transcriptional regulation and chromatin remodeling. The defect of this gene is related to isolated c cleft and cognitive impairment. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcription variants, which encode the same protein.
