Product Overview

Description

GFAP, glial fibrillary acidic protein is an intermediate filament protein. It is found in astrocytes as a cell-specific marker in the development of the central nervous system. GFAP is defective in Alexander disease. But it is highly expressed in astrogliosis, which is the result of certain diseases such as AIDS, dementia, and inflammatory demyelinating diseases.
