Description

Histone deacetylase (HDAC) plays a central role in controlling cell cycle regulation, cell differentiation and tissue development. These proteins play a vital role in development and physiology, especially in the heart and nervous system. It is also closely related to cell proliferation, cell cycle and cell apoptosis. The HDAC2 IP and activity assay kit provides an antibody-based method that can specifically immunoprecipitate HDAC2 complexes from cells and tissues and measure the activity of HDAC2 by fluorescence. The HDAC2 antibody was used to immunoprecipitate HDAC2 from cell or nuclear extracts, and then the complex was captured on protein A/G beads. The immunoprecipitated complex is incubated with the HDAC substrate. The developer only cleaves the deacetylated substrate to produce a fluorophore, which can be easily analyzed using a fluorescence microplate reader.
