Description
C3AR is a single-chain protein of 482 amino acids with seven transmembrane regions and a molecular weight of 54 Kd. C3AR is expressed by neutrophils, eosinophils, mast cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells, and it has been reported that C3AR is expressed in non-immune cells such as hematopoietic and mesenchymal stem cells, epithelial and endothelial cells. C3AR is coupled to heterotrimeric G protein. After C3a is bound, signal transduction leads to chemotaxis, granzyme release and superoxide anion production.
