Product Overview

Description

The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes that encode secreted signal proteins. These proteins are involved in tumorigenesis and certain developmental processes, including regulating cell fate and patterns in embryogenesis. The gene encodes a member of the WNT family, which sends signals through the canonical and non-canonical WNT pathways. The protein is a ligand for the seven transmembrane receptor frizzled-5 and tyrosine kinase orphan receptor 2. This protein plays a vital role in regulating developmental pathways during embryogenesis. This protein may also play a role in tumorigenesis. The mutation of this gene is the cause of autosomal dominant Robinow syndrome. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
