Creatine kinase (CK) is also called creatine phosphokinase (CPK) and ATP: Creatine N-phosphotransferase is a common cellular enzyme. It catalyzes the reversible conversion of creatine and ATP to ADP and creatine phosphate. CK is widely expressed in various tissues and cell types, and has the highest activity in striated muscle, heart tissue and brain. CK consists of two subunits: M (muscle) and B (brain), and has three isozymes: CK-MM (skeletal muscle), CK-MB (heart muscle) and CK-BB (brain). Elevated CK levels are related to many diseases such as myocardial infarction, muscular dystrophy, pulmonary infarction and brain tumors. The accurate measurement of CK is essential for early diagnosis, prediction and treatment strategies. Our CK-MB ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for quantitative measurement of CK-MB in mouse serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant. The density of the color is directly proportional to the amount of CK-MB captured from the sample.
