Product Overview

Description

The EGC/PK060399egfr line is a new small intestinal glial cell line created by Ruhl and his collaborators. Derived from the myenteric nerve plexus of the rat jejunum, the cells grow adherently in culture and exhibit a glial morphology. The source of the cells is adult males of Rattus rattus (Sprague-Dawley strain). This cell shows strong immunoreactivity to glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), S-100 and vimentin. However, they do not show immunoreactivity to Thy-1.1, desmin, smooth muscle α-actin, or C3 complement receptors.
