Description

Human glioblastoma cells (LN-229) were derived from a 19-year-old white female human glioblastoma. GFP-human glioblastoma cells (LN-229) were taken from human glioblastoma cells (LN-229) and transfected with puromycin-resistant lentivirus expressing GFP. Cells are supplied in frozen vials, more than 5 x 10^5 cells/bottle. It is recommended to use Universal Total Growth Medium (NCL-2103-P220) for cell culture.

Mycoplasma Testing

The cell line has been screened using the luciferase based mycoplasma detection kit to confirm the absence of mycoplasma species.

Sterility Testing

The cell line has been screened using the membrane filtration testing methods to confirm the absence of aerobic, anaerobic and fungi microorganisms.

Storage

Store the frozen vials of cells in a -80°C freezer for short period storage or in a liquid nitrogen tank for long-term storage.

Handling Advice

Frozen cells: Upon receipt, frozen ampoules should be transferred directly to gaseous phase liquid nitrogen without delay, unless they are to be used straight away.

Growing cells: Growing cell cultures should be checked on receipt using an inverted microscope. Immediately check the cell density upon arrival for any obvious defects. If the cell density is too high (more than 80% confluent) subculture the cells (harvest and reseed) immediately.
