Product Overview

Description

Immortalized human dopaminergic neuron precursor cells, also known as the Lund human midbrain (LUHMES) cell line, are a subclone of the tetracycline-controlled, v-myc-overexpressed human midbrain-derived cell line MESC2.10. The uniqueness of this cell line is that it can differentiate to obtain a dopaminergic neuron-like phenotype under appropriate growth conditions. LUHMES expresses functional dopamine transporter (DAT), vesicle monoamine transporter (VMAT-2), tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and neuronal β-III tubulin after differentiation. In addition to retaining dopaminergic neuron-specific markers, LUHMES also exhibits electrophysiological properties, making this cell line a valuable neuron model for neurodevelopmental research, disease modeling, and neuropharmacology.
