Description
Dorsal root ganglion, also called spinal ganglion, is the ganglion of the posterior root of each spinal segment and contains the cell body of unipolar primary sensory neurons. Dorsal root ganglion cells are pseudo-unipolar cells. Pseudo-unipolar cells have 2 axons instead of axons and dendrites. An axon extends towards the spinal cord in the center. The other axon extends towards the skin or muscle. In the absence of mitotic inhibitors, neurons tend to aggregate (gangliomate) and detach from the substrate. Ganglion is a group of nerve cells that form the nerve center, especially those located outside the brain or spinal cord.

Creative Biolabs ready-to-use rat dorsal root ganglion neurons are suspensions of high-quality sensory neurons prepared by a standardized method and can be cultured immediately.

The dorsal root ganglion cells of each vial contained approximately 200,000 cells in 0.25 ml of suspension. Cell death will occur within the first few days after seeding, and debris will be observed. this is normal. After about 4 days of culture, the cells will form a network of neurites, and by day 7, fragmentation will be minimized.

Frozen cells:Upon receipt, frozen ampoules should be transferred directly to gaseous phase liquid nitrogen without delay, unless they are to be used straight away.

Growing cells: Growing cell cultures should be checked on receipt using an inverted microscope. Immediately check the cell density upon arrival for any obvious defects. If the cell density is too high (more than 80% confluent) subculture the cells (harvest and reseed) immediately.
