Description
A fluorescent cell vitality dye called NeuroDye™ Fluorescent Dye Violet 540 is used in flow cytometry and other applications to stain both live and dead mammalian cells. The dye can be utilized prior to fixation, permeabilization, or cryopreservation because it binds irreversibly to amine groups both intracellularly and on the surface of cells. In a cell viability study, injured plasma membrane cells glow more intensely than healthy cells because they are permeable to NeuroDye™ dyes.
The violet laser excites NeuroDye™ Fluorescent Dye Violet 540 at 405 nm, and its maximum fluorescence emission occurs at 540 nm.
