Description

Mouse anti-human ACTH antibody (BGN/1388/66) recognizes 1-24 ACTH (Synacthen), which is a synthetic analogue of naturally occurring ACTH, which can be used to measure adrenal reserve and diagnose by acute adrenal corticosteroids Stimulation of adrenal insufficiency. Corticotropin-releasing hormone released from the hypothalamus, which is released from the anterior pituitary gland, acts on the adrenal cortex, stimulates the production of corticosteroids (such as cortisol), and participates in the response to stress. Studies have shown that administration of 1-24 ACTH will increase blood pressure, which is believed to be due to the increased secretion of cortisol stimulated by ACTH, accompanied by increased cardiac output.
