Description
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system of mammals. Its main function is to reduce the excitability of neurons in the entire nervous system. In vertebrates, GABA inhibits synapses in the brain by binding to specific transmembrane receptors in the plasma membrane of presynaptic and postsynaptic neuronal processes. In humans, GABA is also directly responsible for regulating the tone of the muscles. Our GABA ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA that can quantitatively measure GABA in human serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant within 90 minutes. The density of the color is directly proportional to the amount of GABA captured from the sample.
