Product Overview

Description

Tetrodotoxin (TTX) is an effective neurotoxin that reversibly binds to and blocks sodium channels, destroys action potentials and inhibits the discharge of neurons. It is a widely used tool to study the mechanism of neurons, skeletal muscle cells and cardiomyocytes.

Features
• Reversibly binds and blocks voltage-gated sodium channels
• Available with or without citrate
• Tetrodotoxin in citrate is water soluble

Tetrodotoxin without citrate is soluble in slightly acidic buffer. The tetrodotoxin of citrate is soluble in water, and TTX is obtained in pH 4.8 citrate buffer.
