Description

True Blue (TB) is a fluorescent retrograde tracer that is used in peripheral nervous system research to assess the number and origin of neurons that project to certain locations. In rats, TB is efficiently transported long distances from the spinal cord to the cerebral cortex, producing blue fluorescent labeling in the cytoplasm of neuronal soma, nucleoli, proximal dendrites, and axons.ons. TB is particularly efficient in double labeling experiments meant to establish the presence of different axonal collaterals when paired with diamidine yellow (DY).
